The Latest

I recently got a subscription to Porter magazine, and TBH with you it's not because I'm a dedicated fan to all things Porter, even though I would be if I had the budget to buy a £2633 Versace dress, but because I couldn't justify spending over £6 on one magazine (the subscription worked out about three quid per issue). Having said that, The Winter Escape issue 6 was a soul nourishing read I was not expecting.  With Articles such as Women of Spirit - including women who have triumphed over adversity such as Monica Lewinsky - who is now emerging after 16 years of obscurity...who can forget that story?  If you want some inspiration to conquer mountains, this magazine has got it!

Now this might sound contradictory to what I said just before but I also recently purchased another magazine for (ahemAhem) £6 called Magnify. But there is no other magazine in the world like Magnify - it is a faith based magazine which is fashion-forward, empowering, and a pleasure to read.   I'm LOLin the article on page 13 'That's Not a Compliment' about misguided compliments  - They say: "You look amazing on Instagram. You photograph really well." What we hear: Which filter did you use? What we want to hear: The sound of your fingers tapping away at that touchscreen liking every photo of our gorgeous face.

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz came from humble beginnings - grew up in the projects in Brooklyn, but today, Starbucks enjoys annual revenues well in excess of $10 billion, serving nearly 60 million people a week in 16,000 stores across 54 countries. His advice for success is don't allow anyone to tell you you are aiming too high.  (He is no more intelligent than any of us but look at what he achieved.)  Business is a team sport and success is best when its shared with others. (You can't do it alone). You cant attract and retain great people if all you're in business to do is make profit.  A company needs a value system and to stand for something in addition to making money.  Starbucks are a non-tech business - anyone can open a coffee shop - but have a great business model based on creating an emotional connection and not only making profit but doing the right thing. Starbucks mission statement is to "inspire and nurture the human spirit, one person, one cup, one neighbourhood at a time".

#BlackFriday Top pick digital deals are...
1. www.tesco.com and www.sainsburys.com - have tech products on sale and remember some stores are 24 hours so you can shop from midnight Friday 28th November
2. www.namecheap.com - best deals on domains, hosting, SSLs, & email.

I'm keeping the list short because it is my duty to be real.  As we approach 2015 and a new year of opportunity I believe I am speaking to a new generation of smart leaders and influencers who don't want to just haul a load of products and clutter.   I'm not saying give up shopping, I couldn't!  But shop wise. And think smarter. Think like an investor rather than a spender.  Invest in you, your business, and your personal development. Why not do one of these new courses...

Kendall Jenner was last week announced as the face of Estée Lauder and already boosted the brand's Instagram page by 50,000.  Talk about making an impact. Her make up always looks lovely and I hear the secret to her signature matte lip is 'Soar' lipliner by MAC, who btw are owned by (ahem!ahem!) Estee Lauder.  If its good enough for her, its good enough for us :D
Vloggers must now make it clear to viewers if they were paid to promote a product, in a new ruling by the ASA. Successful vloggers get millions of viewers which attracts big companies. If they are given a product by a company than they are in affect advertising it, and in the Vlog title they must either write Advert or Promo, or put a logo in the video indicating it is an advert.
Vloggers who are sent free products don't have to say its an advert - its their discretion to say they have been given free products but if you have been paid to endorse the product than it is an advert and the ASA will be paying attention to videos.

You've probably heard about the Will I Am Puls Smartwatch ...after watching this YouTube video with Will I Am  (and trust me, it is worth a watch, the guy is funny :D !!) it is hard to disagree that he is a Leader, Futurist, Creator, Leader and talented Artist disrupting the Fashion / Tech paradigm.  The watch (or cuff should be the correct term as it goes on like a cuff) looks sleek, sophisticated and can be used to make and answer calls, and send messages without a smartphone (with the Apple watch you need to use with a smartphone)  So i guess you're thinking how much? Well with Apple watch predicted to cost £300, who knows how much Puls Smartwatch is going to be or when we will be able to get one, apparently the watch is due to be released in Soontember lol!

What do you think about SmartWatches??

How cool is this Hoverboard invention...if you're over age 25 you may remember the movie Back to the Future...the hover skateboard was cool in the 80's and its still cool now. I can definitely see this catching on in the cool areas of London like Shoreditch, What do you think?
HendoHover are currently seeking funding on Kickstarter...where you can support to make their dream a reality.
Oh yes and i must also mention that if you are more of a skates girl, you can also try RocketSkates!
Which are available for preorder!

Wondering what those blue ticks are on WhatsApp messages?
Well they basically tell you the person has not only received your message but read your message!
So no more pretending you haven't seen your ex's message, or not replying to that dinner party invite... ;)
What's more if you're in a group there's absolutely no hiding as when you tap and hold the message it not only tells you who read the message but the time they read it :)

However, WhatsApp allows users to disable the blue ticks (read receipt) feature. You can do that by tapping into WhatsApp’s privacy settings and un-checking the read receipt option. Though, once a user disables the blue ticks, they won't be able to see the blue ticks in all their conversations.
